/Ranks lists all Ranks on the server, which are visible to all players including players with restricted command access like frozen players. The ranks have a linear hierarchy, where the highest rank is listed at the top of the list and the lowest at the bottom. The list also supplies information about how many players have said rank, which may help indicate the rank's value. Further information about each rank can be viewed with /RankInfo.

Changing the list

Config

The ConfigGUI has a tab dedicated to editing ranks, many changes in this tab will be reflected in /Ranks or else in /RankInfo. Like in /Ranks the Rank List is linear and has the highest rank at the top and the lowest rank at the bottom.

There are separate buttons for adding, deleting, or moving a rank.

Added ranks appear at the bottom of the list to prevent interference with permission checks.

When deleting a rank, you will be prompted for a replacement rank, so as to not render all those players rankless.

When moving a rank around in the list all players with that rank will assume that new place in the hierarchy.

In-Game

Dispite there being an /Import Ranks, this will not change the ranks list. It will merely import the players. There is currently no way to change the rank listing in-game, though hints have been made about adding such functionality.

History

The /Ranks command changed little over time, most likely due to it's simplicity and how fCraft's ranking system has stayed much the same, too.

Ranks used to be called classes, hence the alias. This was changed in fCraft version 0.480 for consistency with other servers. Several commands were renamed to reflect that.

Even earlier, /Classes was merged with what now is /Ranks.
